Implementing the plans for improvement
It is important that attention be given to the implementation of the plans for improvement. After discussing the results and making a plan for improvement, it comes time for putting that plan into action. The actions that follow at that point are decisive for the success of the Change Monitor. Certified senior consultants know from experience that a collectively made plan for improvement does not automatically lead to action. That is why they will pay attention special attention to:
- making sure the plans for improvement are further elaborated to include concrete actions (e.g. according to the SMART principle or by means of a WWWHW matrix);
- assigning the ownership of actions to individuals who are willing to assume responsibility for those;
- providing clarity as to the role of managers and supporting those wherever necessary;
- concluding (scaling back, redefining) the role of the certified senior consultant;
- deciding how the monitoring of the implementation will take place and making sure that the results are celebrated;
- coordinating and directing actions that will affect various different teams or the organization as a whole;
- bringing about integration, both in the follow-up of the change process and in standard organizational processes;
- plan a next Change Monitor to evaluate the effects of the action plans.
